Are productivity and our engagements linked?
Yes, our engagements may be sufficiently productive or futile depending upon various hues of our daily activities. We are happy when we are engaged, not bothering to assess the quality and quantity of our outputs. It is a grave lacuna. Inputs lose meaning when the output is worthless. Our outputs have to be aligned with our mission or vision of life. When our mission is not clear, everything has to go topsy-turvy. We are counting the days and not making the days countable.Counting the days means passing the time, and a countable day signifies a remarkable one. Read these two sentences again in order to understand the essence of a day in our lives. Routines are the essential ingredients of a day, but outputs are seen only when we transform our fitness to deliver noticeable performance. We postpone the important things for tomorrow not for valid reasons but to get extra relaxed today. It happens, but our concern is not to allow it to happen. We are not active until an important thing is shifted to the zone of urgency. Doing important things daily makes our lives purposeful, while doing urgent things saves us from major losses. Important things are linked to our mission. Urgency comes when we are not sincere in following the schedule of our assignment. If this aspect of life is properly monitored and necessary corrections are made on a regular basis, a dramatic change in performance is bound to occur.
