Challenge our own concepts and patterns that we are glued to.
Sticking to our own concepts and designs, the way we think, and the direction we work is not a matter of confidence but a sign of harsh resistance to change. Change is the law of the universe, and upgrading ourselves is the demand of today and the essential of tomorrow.
We must challenge our thinking processes, routines, self-limitations, fears, and patterns of consuming time. To see the amazing paths ahead, the present boxes created by us are great limiting factors.
Just probe the realities of today and the possibilities of the days ahead, considering some common deviations as summarised below:
1. Believe that we all have ample time every day to learn something to upgrade ourselves in our chosen field and related activities.
2. We are never enough, even after getting higher qualifications and notable expertise. Our lives demand dynamism, not a monolithic path to existence.
3. We can learn from individuals, informal meetings, on the dining table, at the bus stand, from kids 'books, or any other unstructured scenario. Our senses are in active mode to learn but are lost somewhere, like worrying, obeying the boss, or thinking about differences in opinions at home.
4. We can easily save hours per day, which are misused in unproductive talks, videos, or gossips as a careless trend among the masses.
5. Know that people of average intelligence can drive changes in their surroundings with no extra costs. We are not making efforts in this direction. Most of us may agree.
6. Anyone can be an agent of change, even if they feel inferior in the social order in terms of conveniences, luxuries, or position. We don’t know our own inner power.
7. Culture has evolved in the way a cook prepares a tasty meal out of many ingredients scattered here and there. Certainly, we may add new layers to the flow of things around us. We may identify our roles in this process of keeping pace with transformation in earning, learning, and programming for further betterment.
8. We all have the power of imagination, starting from lower to higher grades. On the upper scale, people are working to reduce costs, reduce pollution, increase safety, recycle waste to the greatest extent possible, and so on. We can also contribute significantly, even as ordinary workers in the system, sitting in the remotest places.
9. Make Sunday or a holiday a day to do something extra, adding to our productivity and creativity.
10. Technology has transformed men’s lives, from those on the streets to those sitting in sky-high offices. Don’t be aloof from fast waves of change. Be increasingly skilled and derive higher benefits without waiting for our favourite moments.
11. Try to do something on any day in a week against our own likings, just to disturb our own designs. Most likely, it will help to know our potential.
12. Look back and see how many myths and unsound knowledge have been deleted from our minds in the past year or so. We can’t claim that our lives are free from illusions and misleading ideas.
13. Accept that good speech has no meaning when we behave differently.
14. Dare to appreciate difficulties and deficiencies, which may prove the dawn of the right paths in our lives.
15. The smallest deed of well-being is far better than our grand intention to change the world.
16. Don’t hesitate to meet people who are mostly not aligned with our beliefs and ways of living.
17. Don’t waste time on arguments and fault findings.
18. In the case of two extremes, choose the middle path to keep ourselves progressing.
19. Covering up one’s own demerits amounts to keeping our lives on the wrong footing. It takes willpower and nothing more to come out of our own cocoons.
20. Simply transferring a good quote from one point to another is not more than showing one’s own hunger for hollow praise.
21. We have no time to read even one article in a day, which is a ridiculous excuse.
22. Inculcate reading habits if we are really interested in examining the realities of our own lives.
Thanks for reading this article, which may prompt us to look inward before looking outward for visible change.
