Comparison obstructs real growth.
We all want to grow in terms of status, recognition, and influence. Comparisons compel us to achieve what others have achieved in our surroundings. It is not entirely bad. However, we forget one vital trait of humans. That is, people are not scaled uniformly in respect of competence. Competence is left behind where comparison is allowed to prevail. When we dig a little deeper, we observe that luxury, power, and money are the main areas of comparison. Morals, scholarship, and a caring attitude seldom get any space on the periphery of comparison. Then we come to the conclusion that we take no more than half of the total sphere of a balanced lifestyle into account in our comparison. Now, let us try to understand what is meant by an intangible loss in our comparison. We have chosen to follow others without knowing ourselves. We have blocked our own progress. Who told us that we couldn’t be better than others? All people decide their own zenith and select their own path to grow. There is no need to say that blue is better than violet or vice versa. All things are known for their own merits. All merits have their own colour. Continue to invest to unfold ourselves. It is the real path to getting to our pinnacle. Take a common saying in our circle. Knowledge is power. But empowering others needs to be the purpose of our knowledge, and it remains nothing more than a filler when conserved inside. Any individual is bestowed with varieties of power, but they become visible only when we invest our time and energy to bring them out. Let us accord top priority to revealing our hidden strengths, which would keep us ahead of others without unwanted suffocation.
