Comparison often kills the competence
We compare with others for everything—education, lifestyles, recognition, health, power, and wealth, among other things.
At the outset, by and large, it serves no purpose. It keeps us burning in case we are low in any segments. Ranking is a must to keep things moving.
In a college, some are professors, and many others are engaged in support systems. There is no point in equating them. Even in one class, as a professor, someone is good at speaking; another is skilled in lab work; and a third is skilled in management.
Systems operate, with various components supporting each other. When we look at a vehicle, we get an idea of its operation. All parts are important, and some constitute the basics. Thus, systems work in an interdependent manner and not in isolation. Any individual is a tiny part of the whole universe. All creatures are significant, but humans are above other creations.
We are capable of more than what we are today. We grow only when we expand ourselves. We are not stretching our strengths, and we just get frustrated to see others in a better position. It indicates that we are not able to conquer our own nerves. We have to divert our time and energy to upgrade ourselves, minus any relaxation or comparison.
Coming out of negative grooves is not easy. The individuals living moments by moments with alertness have deleted the negativity through regular practices.
Believing in our own strengths makes things happen. Self-doubt is a great enemy. Our enemies are within us, not outside.
Recalling our own good performance in the past is a simple tool to reenergize ourselves. Practice is another tool. Learning new skills is a third tool. Likewise, anyone can develop their own strategies to climb until something remarkable is achieved. There is a need to leverage our competence and ignore unwarranted competition.
