Crave consistency and be excellent.
We start something and stop doing it after a few days or weeks. We balance our diets and fail to maintain them in less than a month. We promise to be consistent in our preparation for the next exam, but we awaken a few days before the exam starts. We go for a morning walk but forget it for months and years. In simple words, there is no consistency in any important aspect of our lives. We defend ourselves against all these deficiencies because we are experts at making excuses.
Consistency is the soul of success. All steps towards our mission are akin to breathing for lives. When a mission is specific and measurable, we may count what we have done today to reach it. Our output may be unequal on a day-to-day basis, but consistency matters more than the units of achievements.
Consistency is our internal force that is more powerful than the elements of distraction from outside at all times. Distractions can’t be fully discarded, but they can be controlled. Going outside just to meet a friend without purpose is a distraction, but utilising this moment to make preparations for the next presentation is a tool to defeat distraction.
For any project, take small steps at the starting points, continue the process, and then build momentum. It’s consistency. There may be some boring moments initially. It means consistency has yet to evolve. Consistency is like the automatic fueling of our passions to keep ourselves moving ahead without fear of loss, sabotage, or a bad end. Consistency relates to the process and not the end result.
Motivation facilitates what is worth taking up at this juncture, but we need consistency to keep the process going day after day.
Consistency is gradually transformed into habits. Then no extra effort is needed to keep the process moving forward. Our assignments become part of our routines, and then our eyes look for wins and not obstacles. Then all defaults are converted into designs.
Obstacles emerge more often when we start living by anyone else’s benchmarks. Consistency helps shape our own benchmarks.
If we insist on being consistent in our endeavours, even massive obstacles can’t put us off track.
When we embrace consistency, we focus on possibilities and forget to count difficulties. We think about correction, not failure.
No matter what our mission is, there are people who cause frustration. Consistency is a mechanism to prove them wrong.
Our motto is to create better events and stories in our lives. Apart from discipline, awareness, passion, and other attributes, consistency works like a bridge between wishes and winning.
Never hide behind pomposity and past glories. Embrace those qualities that distinguish us from the ignorant masses.
We are responsible for many ills because consistency has been lacking in our efforts so far.
Do small things ourselves. Don’t depend on others to serve meals and water in our bedrooms when at home. It breeds laziness, which hampers physical movement. Arrange books ourselves and keep wardrobes in order. These practises are ingredients for nurturing consistency.
A group is backward, not because forces are working against them but because of myths, waiting for miracles, misconceptions, senseless traditions, unwillingness to change, and other self-created limiting factors.
It is evident that even small changes have created big waves in the lives of people of all ages and cultures, as records depict. They focused on the mission instead of killing time on unproductive issues.
We are not questioning ourselves. This is a major folly. Let us know our own worst. Let the inferiority of today be ground zero to build up the structure of our future above it. It is true that most of the worries we have today are not real.
When we give up, our potential falls into knots. The remedy is not to give up anything without putting in enough time and energy. The power of consistency keeps us away from the tendency to give up many initiatives immaturely.
