Extensive practise is a sure way to hit the point of "no miss".
We just go through the chapters and note books to satisfy ourselves that the revision is done. It is, in fact, one-tenth of total exercise. Whatever we want to conquer, it has to be seen and written again and again—not less than ten times at an interval of weeks, fortnights, months, or quaters.
After extensive practise, things are not in books but properly weird in our minds. Now our fingers will write whatever is learned effortlessly. This is the point of "no miss".
Practise makes hard things easy. Say, physics is a subject that is difficult to conquer for many students. It is the wrong notion. It requires less attention than typical games, which youths are playing on screens at present. Draw diagrams, practise them, and see how a particular topic of physics is free from any confusion or ambiguity forever. Yes, rote learning may be the source of missed opportunities at critical junctures.
The more we do anything, it becomes easier and easier. Our experiences certify that persistence always pays off. Persistence means doing something to make learning an unfailing affair. Practise is a time-tested weapon to defeat obstacles of any kind we face as students, professionals, photographers, song writers, learners of new languages, or speakers.
We may take on an assignment, but we are not good at it. Just start and continue doing it step by step. In this way, surely, we are inching towards our goals with each attempt. It may take extra energy, but it comes with handsome outcomes.
When somebody is doing a particular job, we can also do it. We may need more effort, but we can get what others are getting in similar circumstances. It is our thinking that is holding us back.
We must identify our weaknesses and address them one by one. Say we are loaded with anxieties just before the exam for which we have waited a year. Why? Again, ask why. We have practised all chapters extensively, not just for the sake of an exam but as a part of lifelong learning, and therefore our anxiety is totally unnecessary and only imaginary.
A Career is not a one-time run. There are many turns and twists, regardless of the career we choose. Our confidence in our capabilities supports us even when uncertainties are at their peak. Confidence comes with practise and repetition. Don’t hesitate to write one formula twenty times as per the schemes of preparation. Preparation is the backbone of our endeavours.
Don’t believe memory for all occasions. Take some extra steps and strengthen our learning well before entering the final play. Footballers do countless practises before entering the final. It is not memory but sharpening skills for them. But in all cases, the core is practising to win.
Methods of practising may not be the same, but the aim for anyone is to hit the target. Remember, a short cut pays no dividends where there is no way out except refreshing the concepts, skills, and techniques until the end of the process.
When we can read, write, observe, and discern, we are capable of doing the right things, perhaps with some extra effort. Extra effort is a tool to counter the deficiency in intelligence. Even if somebody is truly intelligent, she or he may fail when learning is defective, whether through inadequate practise, a demon of knowing, or overconfidence.
Failure two or three times does not mean that we are incompetent. The simple meaning of such an episode is that we have to try again.
Failure is a great learning experience. We know our areas of weakness thoroughly. Say, the options given in question papers are quite overlapping. This is the crux where we have to strike to understand the razor-thin difference. This situation creates a dividing line between achievers and non-achievers.
When we are free from many additional responsibilities in the post-childhood phase, there is no reason to be behind at the start of our career. Just feed our minds numerous times daily, "We are capable," and now all barriers and hesitations are washed away gradually.
We can do our best, no matter who we are or what our age is, but for anything to be achieved, we have to be passionate about our target or mission at all times.
