Feedback: a dynamic tool to look up
◇♧◇♧◇♧◇♧◇♧◇♧◇♧◇♧
We all need feedback to understand where we stand. It is optional for whom something is done but carries immense value for the maker. It is a free-flow mechanism available to the creator or producer to make the products or creativity upgraded, worthy, and attractive.
The feedback may be to appreciate what has been done or may be a suggestion to make things better. The criticism is also feedback, provided it is not willingly negative to discourage someone.
Whatever the product or service is, we seek feedback. The majority are reluctant to comment, as if they are unconcerned. We are purchasing many domestic items based on reviews, but we neglect giving feedback even though the products or services are better than expected.
In feedback, there is application of mind. We avoid it. It makes no difference for the user of something in the case of being silent, but it carries a lot of meaning for the maker of things.
To get the systems and processes improved, feedback is imperative. Feedback is just an expression of what we have felt or observed.
Where there is no feedback, systems or methods deteriorate, as the experiences suggest.
Extending feedback is an aspect of a sense of belonging. Usually, it costs nothing but creates a bond between giver and receiver. Both are generating overall benefits, directly or indirectly.
As we may admit, improvement is accelerated when there is constant monitoring of our work, and this monitoring is a kind of feedback. It certainly happens when something has been designated as compulsory.
In this article, the focus is on boosting the culture of feedback, which is not obligatory.
When we visit the home of a relative or friend, there is something good, other than tea and snacks, that needs to be appreciated, but we knowingly ignore it. Be sure that it strengthens our relationships when we consider these small issues when we meet someone, known or unknown, irrespective of purpose.
Realistic comments are a great source of amelioration, whereas unrealistic comments may impart unnecessary setbacks for a while.
Feedback enriches our insights and experiences. For expressing feedback orally or in writing, it takes a few minutes, but it may show the path for brighter days for the receiver or maker.
Even failure is feedback from ourselves and for ourselves. It tells us "Try again".
At times, we don’t like feedback from persistent critics, as seen occasionally in the father-son relationship. The moment the son realizes it is for his future, acceptance of his father’s advice gets more space. This weird situation is also seen in teacher-student and manager-employee coordination. Taking feedback in a positive spirit matters the most.
Shallow commentary serves no purpose. We comment on many things without having sufficient knowledge. The comment of the general public on the play of the championship is just an observation of common nature and not deep. It is based on comparisons and not situation-oriented. It often helps none.
Feedback normally completes the cycle of performance or information. In most cases, it is not in the hands of the originator. When a cycle is incomplete, matter hangs and conditions remain unexplained.
We may practice being feedback-oriented, particularly as givers. It is always fruitful.
It is seen that even regular negative comments have given a boost to those who are determined to pursue what they have been dedicated to doing. Tolerating negativity is not easy, but the rewards are beyond imagination. And believe that it is for us.
Comments from people of the same genre help to improve the position. That is why one hospital compares with another hospital, one establishment with another, and one artist with another reputed artist.
Last words
Feedback is backbone of making things better for people at Lage.
