For awakening talents, rewrite our habits.
The lives of different people move on different scales, as these scales are based on our talents, soft skills, hard skills, passions, habits, hobbies, aspirations, and greed. There are many words we use commonly, like he is talented, he communicates well, he has innovative skills, he is passionate about reading every day, he has team spirit, and many other sentences of this design. They are like threads that are irregularly clubbed, but they drive our lives, moment by moment.
These aspects need some clarity in our real-life situations so that people may know the reasons for backwardness or forwardness in their styles of living. The discussion below is for practical purposes only and not to get good grades in theoretical papers.
Let us start with a frequently used word: talent. It is an inborn ability that comes to an individual at birth. It has potential power. It is in latent form. It is like a tool that shows its worth in application. All individuals are not equally and uniformly talented. Some are emotionally balanced, some make their own decisions, some are traditional, and some are progressive. In all cases, the roots are in their talents. Talents, whatever they are, need to be awakened.
Talent is like fertile soil. When we sow seeds in them, a bumper crop of plants is the result of a higher grade of fertility. When no seed is sown, fertility remains hidden.
Now come to another often-applied term: habits.
As we grow, we start forming habits that we choose. When they are aligned with our innate ability (talent), we grow faster and achieve our goals smoothly; otherwise, we remain slow movers or non-achivers for the rest of our lives.
We are not strictly careful in building our habits. We often fail to notice how these unwanted habits like smoking, procrastination, and indecision become our dominant habits. Plus, we don’t know how to get rid of bad habits.
Plainly speaking, we can expand our good habits and eradicate harmful ones. It is possible to rewrite our habits, provided we commit to doing so. Habits are formed, reformed, and even written off. Habits are detachable.
Someone is good at math but finds it hard to memorise lengthy paragraphs. Another person is good at writing but does not get flow when speaking. These are simply statuses and are not to be taken as final shapes.
Focus on our habits. They are amenable. We are not keeping our promises. It is the worst habit. It is completely in our hands to keep our promises. Small practises of promising what we can do will become a trait of a new personality. Keeping promises is a natural ability. But bad nurturing had given the wrong twist to our behaviour. It can be reframed for dignified living.
Recall our writing skills and how they evolve over time. Every time, this skill is fine-tuned to attract the readers or recipients of our messages. Writing is a habit, and flow comes with practise.
Thus, habits are actions on autopilot where minimum consciousness is required. They are acquired abilities.
It has been seen that intelligent people remained ordinary because they misused their time, opted for faulty priorities, and were not crazy enough to scale up themselves. Talent (intelligence) was there, but in the absence of desirable habits, intelligence was not given a chance to grow.
 Remember
There is no substitute for "learning as if we knew nothing" and retaining those learnings as dominant parts of our habits through regular practise. Let our habits be aligned with our talents, regardless of the quantity and quality of traits we are born with.
