How learning happens
Learning is the elixir of life. And learning would be boundless. Growing is possible only when learning is part of our routines. The question is how to make learning part of our activities. And the straight answer is "to do ourselves".
We are entrusting small and trivial work to someone else without any valid reasons. For example, we don’t know how to cook simple food items in case of urgency. It hardly takes a few minutes to learn in two or three attempts. The fact is, we are not willing to learn.
We have had ordinary work done by others for years. It is our emptiness. Once we decide to learn it, learning happens. We have just conquered our own resistance to change, and now we are not dependent on others for a few small actions.
We live in a sea of information. We are getting a variety of inputs from social interactions, media, books, institutions, and many other sources. Situations have dramatically changed with fast expanding information technology. So, the ball is before us for our hit to roll on. It is our actions that matter.
When the majority of us are reluctant to add anything after entering gainful activities, it is necessary that we be better than equals just by learning something extra.
To be a good player, knowing the rules of the game is not enough. We have to play. We have to practise. We have to have patience. We have the faith to be winners.
Dreams, big or small, are the driving force that keeps us on the track of learning. In the absence of dreams, we lead a passive life. Learning makes us confident enough to meet unpredictable situations. Let us be prepared as per some aim in mind. When opportunities come, we are likely to be victorious.
Just notice how speaking of words happens in infants in our closeness. They listen, repeat, make errors, and correct them. Learning happens. This method is applicable at all stages of our lives.
If we are able to drive a car , we are not disturbed, when the driver has not reported to duty.
Methods of " doing ourselves" also vary from person to person. If someone is slow at learning, it is not a serious drawback. It is seen that a slow person with solidity has won the race as compared to a fast and frivolous person.
We must learn something every day.
