Internal dialogue happens undeterred.
Self-talk occurs without any control. Sometimes it is directed internal dialogue, and mostly it is, indeed, not felt. We talk internally hundreds of times a day, but do not know how they occurred. As a matter of fact, our inner world is more powerful than forces in the outside world. Our intentions, emotions, reactions, and feelings are all working inside our brain, and they collectively design our courses of action. Believe that constructing and organising our thought processes are fully under our control. Nevertheless, our attention to these aspects is sketchy and highly superficial. Let us emphasise that our internal dialogue is directed by what we focus on every time: our family income, social recognition, excellence in performance, expansion of business, doing something unique, and so forth. We are reading a book without full concentration. What is this? It is our self-talk that takes our mind away from the task at hand. Paradoxically, our brain is working on things that are beyond our control. It is called distraction because we gain nothing from it. Internal dialogue may lead us to do wonders, provided we concentrate on things largely under our control. We can’t delete self-talk, but all efforts should be made to keep it on track. Our mood is directly linked to our self-talk. We will do it tomorrow, not today, though time is available. It is an example of our self-talk.
