Long-term planning may seem unrealistic.
Regardless of background, gender, and location, we may plan to do the maximum in any domain. Say, we have to be explorers of minerals in the earth. The task is vague and unexplained. Nothing wrong.
We are in school, then will go to higher studies, then will know about minerals, then location, and so on. There is no clear map of the roads ahead. We move and move without being tired or diverted and finally start searching for the hidden minerals in the vast stretches of land and even under the sea.
People may laugh when we share the big picture in our minds. We get stronger in our determination to do something deep and different as people criticise our choosing goals quite different from those of our colleagues.
Dreaming small is, no doubt, clear and specific. But this is our own selection to remain at the lowest rungs without looking up the ladder. Who has stopped us from climbing to the highest rungs of the ladder? No outsider, but our own minds.
Many of us suffer from range phobia. The journey will take the whole of my 20s and even more. We have no patience. It is our fault. We forget that dreaming big demands an investment of our time and huge energy, and then we hope to be renowned players in the eyes of millions.
In the present scenario, studying and practising medical science is also a long-term exercise. Getting a brand name takes a long time, and there is no certainty that it will be so by any means.
When we think, "It is too long to wait," it is a range phobia. We often split a long range of time and efforts into yearly targets, and we have to do the maximum in a year. The same is to be repeated next year, and so forth. This is a process to enjoy and celebrate periodically.
Long-term planning may be unrealistic. As we move, all steps become realistic one after another. The use of time in a day or its misuse makes all the difference. A day of life is like a page in a book. A book attracts readers when all its pages are full of data and information. Let us make all the days of our lives clear steps towards our vision.
In all endeavours, consistency is the key. On normal days, be strict about completing tasks. Do something extra on holidays. Make a day of travelling and get together on unusual days to be highly productive.
What we dream today is going to be our destiny tomorrow. Think beyond what we can see today. No one has achieved anything big in a month or a year. Proper use of time is more important than the total time required to accomplish a big task.
Dreaming in the early phases of life is like planting trees in our 30s so that we may get a chance to harvest fruits after five years and onward.
Make a choice to dream big and achieve big.
