Losing mindfulness defeats the purpose.
Being mindful while talking, working, walking, resting, or doing something else is normally not achieved at an optimum level. The reasons are numerous, but in normal conditions, we encounter deviations like the following:
1. We are not serious about our engagements. Mostly, it is not more than showing our presence.
2. Purpose or what we intend to derive out of that action is not clear. The vital component is "why," which we fail to keep in mind.
3. We are just observing the formalities and not connecting with the bigger picture.
4. We sit or stand with the feeling that no one is watching us.
5. We don’t care for our precious time. Our negligible gain from long hours of assembly does not bother us.
6. There is no practise for being mindful, though the matter is repeated time and again.
7. We are not sure we all are capable of a mental state of the highest order of attention.
8. There is no fear of losing substantially when due attention is not paid.
9. The impact of our mindfulness on our productivity or ascertaining a higher level of facts has not been focused on every now and then by our mentors or someone else.
10. We like to be worried or anxious, which may or may not happen wherever we are.
11. We go straight to outcomes, bypassing the processes.
12. We are not interested in self-discovery.
Practice has given us an edge in many domains, but we are not applying this formula to improve our range of mindfulness.
Prominent advantages of mindfulness include:
It boosts our concentration.
It regulates our emotions.
It promotes our creativity.
It helps with cognitive flexibility.
It allows us to deal with challenges.
It enhances openness.
It ensures maximum productivity.
Mindfulness simply means to remain in the present moment without assuming or assessing irrelevant or unrelated outcomes.
