Make gatherings an opportunity to unveil our uniqueness.
Changing the calendar means entering a new year. Celebrating our birthday means adding one year to our age. Getting good wishes for promotion means accepting higher responsibilities. A variety of occasions come in a span of 365 days, and most of us expect these days to come and go as if it were just a moment to exchange good wishes and enjoy a high-quality feast.
Getting good wishes on the phone or at a gathering brings some amount of happiness and helps us forget our worries and vexing issues for a day or two. It is time to reenergize ourselves. These are the moments of light that dispel darkness. It is time to reflect on what we wish to become. It is time to unfold our talent. It is an opportunity to know how one individual is completely different from others.
Without a commitment to excellence, we remain unchanged. It is our internal force that gears up the desired change. Believe that even two individuals in a family are not identical. It is not a matter of merits and demerits as per social or professional context, but it is essential to know what special qualities a person has that others are deprived of.
On these special moments, take a vow to add something to our skills, to join new courses, to study books of our preferences, to visit a few far-off places, to do something that has been pending for years, to spare more time for our near and dear, or to start a new venture. Don’t allow a year to go by. Doing something different means adding something to our experiences.
We have unique strengths, and it is our job to identify them. When we move downstream, we get nothing other than our existence. Once we decide to bloom year after year, we face a lot of internal resistance. This resistance also shows the path to our prosperity and new realities.
Once we get a trace of our uniqueness, our lives are quite different. We start adding layers to that uniqueness, and eventually we are better than thousands of our peers or superiors in a short period of time.
