More about fearfulness
There are a variety of fears in life: the fear of rejection; the feeling of incompetence; the fear of insecurity; the fear of stagnation; the fear of not getting social recognition; and many others. There is some kind of fear in all of us, irrespective of our engagements and pursuits, almost every time.
Most of us prefer to be in our zones of comfort. This is the main reason we avoid many opportunities to make ourselves better. Our observations suggest that fear, whether implicit or explicit, has done the most damage to those who have surrendered before the conditioning.
When we are more fearful, we are severely reluctant to enter new territories.
Nothing tangible happens until we are ready to embrace the discomforts.
The pattern is discomfort followed by a state of comfort, followed again by discomfort followed by a higher level of comfort, and the process continues.
Our choices make us sturdy or weak. We can’t imagine moments free from all kinds of fear. The point to be noted is that we have to take action despite fear. It takes courage. Thus, courage appears to conquer fear. So, it is advised to go to the position where fear exists. Even real threats are destroyed when we fight them with all our might.
Just recall our phases of life. Many instances are examples of the constant defeat of fear by all of us when we have faced situations boldly. Fears exist to make us bold; this is self-evident.
We build the habit of delaying small issues because of some unexplained fears. When we insist on getting the task finished, it happens.
Risk is present. It does not mean we have to remain inside. We have to be fully aware of all threats and devise mechanisms to counter them.
Fear is produced in our mind while threats are assessed while looking into the prevailing conditions. We need to fight fear and manage the threats as prudently as possible.
