Opinions vis-à-vis decisions
Decisions are taken after looking at the matter from different perspectives. Decisions shape the destinations. Regardless of age, gender, profession, location, or situations, we make many decisions in a day. Sometimes we hold it for some reasons; otherwise, we decide what to eat, where to go, whom to meet, whether to call someone or not to call, and a series of other decisions.
We are writing about this topic at this moment; it is a decision. Someone is a famous surgeon today; it was his decision a decade ago. Someone is unemployed; it is the consequence of his decisions taken after getting degrees.
At times, not taking a decision is a decision, in the sense that pictures are not clear or inputs for decisions are vague. Likewise, taking any decisions when under the influence of high emotions has been found unsound.
Now analyse the impacts of opinions on our abilities to take a decision.
Opinions are good when the opinion makers are experienced and have a grip on the issue. Their opinions are based on reliable resources. On the other side, advice is freely available, as some people are eager to show that they are knowledgeable. Further opinion seekers are also too lazy to get the information verified or cross-checked. They carry on with half-baked information, and it becomes part of their belief systems. Such people never try to find the facts or their actual position. They remain constantly in doubt but express their opinions forcefully. Beware of such baseless opinions.
In sum, seek opinions but filter them before taking them as reliable. Seek opinions from people of standing with unbiased approaches. In any condition, never regret pointing fingers at any advisor. Be in a position to say, "It was my decision." Irrespective of consequences - good or bad.
