Ten tips for teens to ensure a better tomorrow
Teenagers are at the prime formative stage in all cultures and conditions. This is school time, and many hopes start blooming for the future.
Teens are going to make tomorrow. When today is better than yesterday, it is natural to believe that tomorrow will be better than today.
Teens start not only absorbing things from their surroundings but also internally preparing themselves for what is best for them when the performance parts start.
It is a collective responsibility of home and school to keep the growing individuals on the right track, taking the following points into consideration:
1. Keep the teens away from their smart phones when they are just passing the time. This is a bane when harmful things are preferred.
2. Make the teens learn to keep their books, clothes, and other essentials in an orderly manner.
3. The child must learn etiquette in a systematic manner as per social standards.
4. This is the stage for inculcating good habits rapidly. Habits are backbone of functioning in future.
5. This is the time to separate likes and dislikes on their own. Nothing is to be imposed forcefully until the inclination is against the practical norms.
6. It is better if a child gets their tasks done themselves. Otherwise, they need to be partially supported and not fully.
7. The friend circle must be scrutinised from time to time.
8. Family members must talk to all kids, including teens, invariably every day.
9. Caretakers must deal with teens softly on normal occasions. Irritation comes from bad behaviour that needs to be handled wisely.
10. Scoring high in exams is not enough to say that all is well. Areas like cooperation, adaptability, acceptance, and transparency must be given due weight.
There are many other attributes that emerge during this crucial time of shaping behavior. Important parameters of living a rational and respectful life must not be ignored.
