We talk repeatedly about hard times.
We also consider that we can’t go beyond fate.
I have also grown up with a series of myths and mysteries. There was less focus on "striving" in my chatting about shaping many things. Mentioning "hard work" was just a message from seniors to juniors. This message was instantly diluted when many seniors were in search of easy and short-cut ways to grow.
I remember that all talks ended with the word "fate," particularly during my youth. However, one thing was clear: In the same scenario, star performers were talking about their struggles while giving shape to their glittering careers.
There was no alignment between fate and effort. Simply, at one point in time, I was forced to infer that fate cannot be upgraded with effort. In this post, I am summarizing all such contradictions still prevailing, specifically in deprived classes.
I know elite people are not keeping themselves in the frame of fate. Still, I am elaborating on these aspects to make those sections aware of the power of hard work (including smart work) who are grappling with fate.
"I am a great believer in luck. The harder I work, the more of it I seem to have." Colman Cox.
In this quote, the puzzle is addressed. Yes, I have seen that people talking about fortune were not hard workers. People who were afraid of facing problems were talking often about fate and toughness in their surroundings.
When we refuse to move forward, we find it convenient to label it fate. It is our decision, not that of outside forces.
We normally get what we strive for. I repeat, we get what we dedicate ourselves to. Exceptions have other reasons, not fate.
As I understand it, one point of stagnation is called fate. Okay. But it is not final. There is a lot of space ahead that is yet to be travelled. From one fate to another, and again, the next one, is the reality.
Many a time, our values are pulling us back. It is time to reexamine our values. No value prevents progress in any culture.
"Whatever limits us, we call fate." Ralph Waldo Emerson.
Most of the time, we look elsewhere. So we know more about our limitations than our ability to go outside the periphery.
Mostly, we are not passionate about performance and practical solutions. We rarely inquire about our power to enter the unknown.
"We know ourselves chiefly by hearsay." Bruce Lee.
This has to be corrected. We have not tried to expand to touch new shores. We are acting as per our priorities and decisions.
Thus, our strength is yet to be leveraged. It is true.
For all generations, there were hard times. They have used those situations to grow, not to remain stuck.
Hard times need hard decisions and hard steps to bloom. It asks us to change priorities. It provides an opportunity to create new norms and equations. There is no full stop in life until we have all our senses in order.
When something goes wrong, we use the phrase "unfortunately.". It does not mean that all options have been closed.
Every sunrise comes with many options for us. Every day brings us something good. We must learn how to extract "good" from bad situations.
There is no substitute for "struggling with falling and rising.".
I just believe our days ahead are wonderful. But I have to act daily to get to new shores.
