Why do we want a purpose in life?
Finding purpose in life is not event-centric; it is a lifelong process. It is relevant to know the reason for our presence in this universal system in the 21st century, but the majority of us are casual and not focused on worldly affairs. They flow through the series of events either in pleasure or distress without asking "why" and simply react to the situations as they arise.
In all locations and cultures, people are largely influenced by the expectations of parents, relatives, friends, teachers, and other wellwishers. They live their lives as dictated or directed by outsiders. Many people keep battling with the past and wishing for the future. In this dilemma, they miss the " now" and remains ever empty.
When there is any effort to examine what the purpose of life is, we get so many conflicting answers because we stumble in the dark. We all answer what has been fed to our minds through our upbringing.
History is full of amazing personalities, though the names of a good number of individuals who made this world all wonderful far and wide are not there. We call them unknown heroes. Prima facie, they were visionaries, and they showed following generations how to derive the purpose of being on this earth in a particular decade or centuries.
It does not happen that we know the purpose and then work on it for our whole lives. Normally, we do something, go deeper, strike again and again, and discover what is wrapped in the designs of nature. Examples include making wheels, the shape of the earth, the laws of friction, electricity, and an infinite number of other things. Even at the micro level, there are many innovations in dresses, food items, stationery, and utensils, and some people have done it. We may title it as the purpose of their lives.
The Majority of us live in the shadow of a variety of limitations. It works against making our lives meaningful. Believing that we have no limitations in life gives us the confidence to find what we can do apart from others. It will define the purpose of our existence.
Our goals, or missions, are part of our purpose in life. Our beliefs and values determine the direction and depth of our activities. But they are also malleable. Rigidity without sound reasoning destroys the game of life. We must examine what and how we think. We must search inward instead of getting approval from the outside world every now and then for all pieces of work.
The capacity of our brains is beyond measure. It expands as we use it and shrinks when in passive mode. If we are careful about our appearance and physical fitness, we need to be more careful about the aggressiveness of our minds. We must be careful about our thinking and actions. Our purpose in life is hidden beneath our activities.
Let it be clear that nothing is "purposeless" on this earth, in the galaxy, or beyond. It is our assignment to explore them. Our purpose in life may come to light while working on our chosen ventures.
From time to time, there is a revolution in manufacturing, agriculture, technology, transportation, working in space, and an increasing number of other fields. People dedicate their lives to making this world better and better. They decline selfishness. They choose hard tasks. They embrace trouble. They believe that nature supports only those who are adventurous.
All breaths remind us to do something. Nature provides air, water, food, family, and friends with the infrastructure to perform, not to mention six months are over in the current year. Not doing any tangible work after 60 or 65 is our own creation. We must work until our brains support us. We must not waste time but pass our assignments, whatever they are. Work every day without waiting for a specific design to come to the fore.
We are hooked in a loop because we feel we are not competent and can’t get distinction in any field. We must delete this notion from our minds without delay. The fields are different, but we have the strengths to surpass the previous records in any domain, at the micro or macro level.
To get a glimpse of purpose in life, we must learn to live with our feelings. Feelings show the areas of deficit and loopholes where we need to work. Say, poverty is a vast area where we can do something to bring smiles to some people’s faces if we take it as an assignment for us. We may add value to schemes of health, education, cooperation, innovation, productivity, recycling of resources, environments, and treasures still covered in the limitless stretches of the earth, seas, and oceans.
Seek the purpose of life in the midst of insecurity, uncertainty, chaos, upheavals, and cluelessness. Do everything to keep searching for something with our power of working on possibilities without undesirable halts.
