Words are wonderful, but not in all expressions.
When we talk, we express our views and feelings. When we write, it is intended to convey something to others. We choose a language , where we are comfortable to speak or write. That is why speaking, listening, writing, and reading are pillars of our communication.
People prefer to listen what they like. Similarly, people are reluctant to read content that does not agree with their choices. Thus, the onus is on the speaker or writer to make their topics or content likeable to as many people as possible.
Some narratives are still powerful, even though they were told to people hundreds of years ago. The reason was the selection of words that were eye-openers for people of all ages. Saying something in a few words is more deeply absorbed by the listener than a lengthy explanation. The same things happen with readers.
When we are not adding awareness to the minds of the listeners or readers, then as a speaker or writer, we are not making an impact. Evidently, the selection of words and their sequence are the keys to our success. It is possible only through practise and openness in expressing our views and feelings.
In further analysis, it is seen that deriving the meaning of words and sentences is not less important. A sentence is one, but different people interpret it according to their feedings in their minds. At times, for one sentence, people derive quite opposite meanings. The reason is that we are not ready to unlearn before learning a new message or piece of information. The water appears more natural when it is flowing. Otherwise, it appears muddy. This is applicable to our own cases. If we desire to be better versions from time to time, we have to be good listeners and regular readers.
When we dare to check our own beliefs and thought processes, we eagerly listen to many speakers and read a variety of books to ascertain what is true and come out of our own periphery. It is the backbone of shining our personality and brightening our character. This is the purpose of meeting people of different backgrounds and visiting amazing landscapes.
Most of the time we use words to express our feelings but many things are so deep in meaning that they can’t be captured in words and group of words. Only seeing makes sense in such circumstances.
Obviously, for all ages, the tip is to be an honest listener and a sincere reader. Abandon the habit of coming to conclusions , just to satisfy own perceptions and emotions. Dare to go against the tide of our own lines of thinking. Listen to contrasting views. See the content, not the faces or reputations. Take something beneficial when time is invested in attending conferences and scrolling on smart phones. Every time, there are no immediate benefits, but we get a direction for where to strike next.
Take any old episodes or current affairs. They seem to be a mix of some just aspects, some unjust aspects, and some that are context-oriented. When three individuals drag the issue in three directions, consensus is too hard to achieve. There may be common threads in any issue. When people focus on those points, common ground is there to build the structure of possibility over there. It all depends on whether we are seekers of realities or playing a game of winning.
Awareness is a must for a fulfilling life. Awareness is the product of our knowledge and exposures. Our knowledge is enriched through the information materials we select from the ever-increasing variety available on traditional and digital platforms. Select the best to be the best in life.
